Molly is fierce, loyal, ambitious, and completely unable to see how her father isn’t the great soldier and tactitian he claims to be. 

Alice has got a smart mouth. Her father doesn’t trust her with guns and, as much use as he has for her, she could probably be replaced with a pack animal. 

Though he tells tall tales of his heroic past battles, they’ve never seen him handle a gun himself. They’re yet to notice he’s something of a coward. We wonder if one day they’ll realise he needs them far more than they need him.
